Over the past few months they have been busy adding to their lingerie collection, expanding it to include bra and panty sets, and plenty of club wear items. But more excitingly for yours truly, who works from home and thus doesn’t go clubbing, and who already has a drawer full of lingerie, is the addition of many bath and beauty products!

One of my recent purchases was Cake’s Cake Supremely Rich Bath and Shower Froth, and I love it! Its coconut and vanilla scent is distinct, yet light enough to not be cloying or overly sweet. The soap is indeed rich and frothy – a quarter-sized amount provides enough lather and moisturization for showering and shaving with. And during the cold, dry winter season, one thing I can never get enough of is a body wash that makes my skin soft, smoothly, and supremely moisturized.

I’m a sucker for anything that glitters or shimmers. I also love lotion, particularly in the winter, when the cold and dry air outdoors combined with the dry air indoors and my frequent hand-washing and dish-washing makes for dry, sometimes lightly chapped skin. All throughout the year I use lotion on my hands, but I pay special attention to the need for lotion in the winter, when the above combination of weather and life factors make my hands feel and look less than stellar.

So when I saw that EdenFantasys began carrying an extensive selection of beauty and body products, I began perusing the selection, and was quite excited to stumble upon Hi light luminous body lotion by Cake Beauty. This lotion promises to deliver richly-moisturizing lotion that provides a hint of shimmer, topped off with the sweet and lovely scent of vanilla cupcakes. The 8.5oz bottle costs $27.99, but I assure you that a little goes a long way, so this is definitely a good deal. (And if you use coupon code ES2 when ordering, you’ll save 15%!)

In terms of moisturizing and shimmer, Hi light luminous body lotion definitely delivers. There’s no disappointment there. With just one small application of the lotion (about a nickel-sized amount) my hands had more than enough moisture and shimmer, and the effects lasted for quite a while. But the scent is just way too strong. I do like sweet scents, but the cupcake scent of the lotion is strong, almost cloying. If you don’t mind smelling super-sweet, then Hi light luminous body lotion won’t disappoint. Just make sure you don’t wear any other perfume or lotion, in order to avoid negatively contrasting scents.

I’m lazy when it comes to shaving. While I insist on shaving every time I shower (which is daily, unless I am really sick), I can’t be bothered with using a separate shaving cream or foam. So I do my best to find body washes which are richly lathering and moisturizing, so that I can scrub up, lather up, and prep my underarms and legs for shaving all in one fell swoop.

For the most part, Lavanilla 2-in-1 Shower & Shave Body Wash doesn’t disappoint. It has a lovely, soothing scent (neither the vanilla nor the lavender are overpowering), and the body wash does lather well and spread well. For shaving, it’s adequate, but that’s about it. While I’ve dealt with worse, I’ve also dealt with better – from body washes that say nothing of using them for shaving purposes. Lavanilla 2-in-1 Shower & Shave Body Wash leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized, without any drying effects of annoying feeling of residue.

In any case, I do really like Lavanilla 2-in-1 Shower & Shave Body Wash, and will most likely purchase it again.

One of my favorite daily routines, believe it or not, is washing my face. This is something I do at the end of the day, while I shower, and it feels so good to let the warm water run over my face before I use cleanser. When it comes to facial cleansers, I prefer ones that lather, clean well, and leave my skin feeling clean, fresh, smooth, and free of makeup, oils, and impurities.

Apothederm contacted me back in the fall and provided me with the opportunity to review one of their products. I chose the Brightening Cleanser, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Apothederm Brightening Cleanser promises to refine, brighten, and tone skin, by loosening and removing dead skin cells, along with everyday impurities and debris, leaving skin feeling and looking refreshed and renewed. And let me tell you, after several months of using Apothederm Brightening Cleanser, I can assure you that it delivers on that promise.

Apothederm Brightening Cleanser contains several key ingredients, including malic acid (non-irritating acid that reduces the appearance of fine lines); mandelic acid (another acid that absorbs oils and reduces imperfections); salicylic acid (exfoliates, reduces pore size); oligopeptide-10 (contains anti-inflammatory properties); glycerin (draws moisture to the skin); aloe leaf extract (soothes and calms); mugwort extract (skin conditioner); and ubiquinone, a powerful anti-oxidant.

One thing really want to emphasize about Apothederm Brightening Cleanser is that my husband uses it, and he likes it! Prior to Apothederm Brightening Cleanser he rarely cleaned his face with anything more than water and basic soap, due to all of the store-bought facial cleansers always burning or otherwise irritating his skin. But Apothederm Brightening Cleanser doesn’t irritate his skin at all, and so my husband and I are sharing the bottle.

You can purchase a 6 ounce bottle of Apothederm Brightening Cleanser from Apothederm.com for $28.00. Trust me when I say that this 6 ounces will last you a long time – even though both my husband and I are using it, there’s still a good half of the product left! Additionally, Apothederm.com carries many other products for general cleansing of the face and body, as well as specialty products designed for anti-aging, acne, and sensitive skin.

Follow Apothederm on Facebook and Twitter.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Disclosure: Apothederm provided me with a free product in exchange for my honest review.

Schewe, MD, a board-certified, leading oncologist based in Colorado. After witnessing firsthand and hearing accounts and stories of patients suffering from harsh after-effects of radiation, in the form of burns, sores, and general skin irritation, Dr. Schewe decided to help his patients not only fight cancer, but reduce and eliminate the painful, unsightly effects that radiation and chemotherapy can have on skin and hair. Dr. Schewe spent a lot of time researching ingredients and formulas, and finally came up with his line of Elite Therapeutics products, which include lip balms, hand and body cremes, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and deodorant. Each product is hand-crafted to help soothe, heal, nourish and protect that particular area of the body.

There are several key ingredients in each product from the Elite Therapeutics line, including aloe leaf extract (known for its analgesic and skin-soothing effects); Allantoin (a rich skin conditioner); hyaluronic acid (this is a naturally-occurring component found in human skin; increasing it decreases skin damage while also plumping and reducing fine lines and wrinkles); hydrolyzed vegetable protein (conditions and hydrates); beta glucan (an anti-inflammatory that helps to protect against UV radiation); and panthenol aka vitamin B-5 (hydrates, moisturizes, decreases inflammation).

Elite Therapeutics sent me a bottle of Elite Creme to review. While Dr. Schewe initially designed his line of Elite Therapeutics products with cancer patients in mind, the products are suitable for anyone with damaged or sensitive skin. With winter’s drying and chafing effects in full swing, the Elite Creme couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Elite Creme provides daily clinical skin therapy in a highly vitamin-concentrated creme.

The creme spreads easily, and a little bit of it – just a dime-sized amount – goes a very long way. When I rub it into my hands, on my legs, my face, anywhere my skin is dry or irritated, the resulting moisturization, softness, and smoothness is just amazing. The creme soaks in quickly, and there is no greasy residue left behind. The scent is light, not really identifiable as anything really, and doesn’t conflict or detract from any other scent I may be wearing, whether it be from perfume or even another lotion or moisturizer. I have been using Elite Therapeutic’s Elite Creme for several weeks now, and despite putting my hands through the daily vigors of washing dishes, cleaning the house, being exposed to the cold, dry air outside, and being washed multiple times a day, my skin feels incredibly smooth and soft – the dryness and sensitivity I’m used to experiencing during the colder seasons are nowhere to be found.

You can purchase Elite Creme for $45.00 at Elite Therapeutics. Remember, a little goes a long way, and Elite Creme truly is an elite, must-have product for damaged or sensitive skin, so it’s well worth the investment, as far as I’m concerned.

Follow Elite Therapeutics on Facebook and Twitter.

Since I wear makeup just about every day, I’m always open to try new makeup remover options, though I generally prefer wipes. However, when it comes to particularly stubborn makeup, such as glitter, certain shadow primers, and mascara, it can pay to have liquid remover around.

Unfortunately, Klorane’s Cornflower water make-up remover did not pan out for me. I found that I had to use a lot of it (three pads worth) in order to take off basic shadow and mascara – no glitter, no densely packed shadow, and the mascara wasn’t waterproof. And even then, there was still purple residue (the color shadow I was wearing) that I had to take another makeup remover to in order to finish the job. While Klorane Soothing Eye Make-up Remover with Cornflower Water did indeed feel soothing and nice to use, I absolutely will not use a product that requires another product to clean up after it.

In summary, Klorane’s make-up remover was a disappointment.

It was just a sample size, enough for one use. Per the directions, I rinsed my face with warm water (well, hot, actually, since I was in the shower and like my showers hot to the point where my skin turns red), and then applied the cleanser and rubbed in circles to create a nice, foamy lather. The lather was not very thick, but it did more than enough in terms of spreading all over my face. The scent was light, and unlike other purifying facial cleansers I’ve used, the Purifying Facial Cleanser didn’t have much of a tingle (or burn, heh) to it. It cleaned my face thoroughly and left my skin feeling clean and invigorated without drying it out.

While Bare Escentuals Purifying Facial Cleanser may be a little pricey at $12 for 2 ounces worth a product, a little goes a long way, and as always, you get what you pay for. This is one item I plan on picking up the next time I shop at Sephora.
