Smart & Sexy’s merchandise is available for purchase online, through their web store, and at most local Walmarts. I’ve owned two of their bras in the past, and recently I had the opportunity to review a black underwire bra (love the fit, and the sexy look it gives my breasts and cleavage!), a zebra print, lace-trimmed pair of boyleg (boy short) panties (cute, sassy, fun, comfortable!); and a sexy black underwire chemise/teddy (amazing fit, flattering fit, perfect for my husband and I to enjoy ♥).

What I like about Smart & Sexy, besides their affordable products (most of the bras are just $15, sleepwear and lingerie is between $15-$20, and panties start at $6), is that these affordable products are gorgeous, sexy, fashionable & flirtatious, and perfect for everyday wear or those special nights. With many colors, styles, and sizes available, there’s something for every woman.

Just because I’m adult (who may or may not be hitting the big 3-0 in three years) doesn’t mean I don’t like to dress up for Halloween! And now that I’ve lost a lot of weight and am wearing “normal” sizes, you better believe that I like to doll it up for Halloween. Unfortunately, retail stores and seasonal Halloween stores don’t have a lot to offer that doesn’t look like an oversized kids’ costumes, and the many “adult” websites that have so-called Halloween costumes really should label them as dress-up lingerie, since the stuff is almost always too racy to considering wearing to anything but an adults-only Halloween party.

Enter SexyCostumeDiscounters.com. The site specializes in sexy, wearable Halloween costumes for men and women. The selection of costumes available is quite impressive, with literally hundreds of costumes to choose from! You can search by category, browse what’s hot & featured on the main page, or use the handy search bar to find the exact costume you’re looking for. SexyCostumeDiscounters.com doesn’t discriminate against plus sizes either, as evidenced by their generous plus size section. There are plenty of sexy womens costumes to go around!

I was offered a costume review, and I wound up checking out the sexy bunny costumes. Bunnies aren’t normally my thing, but Playboy bunnies are cute, and I know my husband would get a kick out of me owning a lingerie-style bunny costume with a poofy tail! I opted for the Adult Black Cocktail Hunny Costume, which arrived quickly and discreetly.

What I really love about this costume, which most likely represents all of the other costumes that SexyCostumeDiscounters.com carries, is that it’s just as pictured, and true to size. It also worked nicely as a costume in our bedroom.

If you’re on the lookout for the perfect Halloween costume with a little sass, then I definitely recommend SexyCostumeDiscounters.com!

Since having gastric bypass surgery in November of 2009 and losing 150 lbs between April of 2009 and now, I have found that shapewear — a nice term for Spanx and other body-control products — is my new best friend. The sad truth is that most bodies cannot lose that kind of weight without some loose skin and saggage issues. For me, the worst of my loose skin and saggage is around my midsection. Weighing 331 lbs, being pregnant twice, having a c-section and then losing 150 lbs in a year and a half is simply too much “trauma” for the body to endure without leaving behind telltale signs of it all. When it comes to looking good, my final put-together outfit includes not only a decent pair of jeans, a flattering top, makeup and jewelry, but some kind of shapewear. I know that control-top panty hose is the most popular, but I tend to like the top-down approach to smoothing and tucking excess skin and the unsightly bulges it produces.

Say hello to N-fini Shapewear, a line of shapewear products designed to tackle all sorts of problematic areas. They have tops, bottoms, and camis, and I ultimately chose the LYRCA Strapless Shaper, because it provides not only minimizing around the midsection, but extra lift to the bosom via the included underwires. What I like about the Strapless Shaper is that it has the long cami/tube top style that works best for me, and a patented wide band with special “grippers” that stop the dreaded roll-up (something I’m currently experiencing with another brand of shapewear that I’m wearing at this very moment, but have been too lazy to fix since I’ll be hopping in the shower soon). It’s made out of LYRCA, which ensures that it’ll not only stretch and shift to accommodate your body shape, but snap right back after use, so it’s always “fresh” and ready to minimize and control to its fullest potential.

Me wearing the shapewear — trust me, what it does for me is amazing!

All of N-fini’s shapewear is made out out of LYRCA and features the patented Serpentine Gel, which is what creates the special no-roll band at the bottom of their line of shapewear. And a specially diamond-shaped weave throughout the LYCRA fiber ensures additional shaping power without any loss of comfort. I can attest to these and other features of the N-fini Strapless Shaper. It’s quite snug fitting, and provides excellent shaping and support. True to its word, it doesn’t shift or do the dreaded roll-up, and even the inclusion of the underwires don’t cause any discomfort.

If you’re looking for high quality shapewear to wear underneath your regular clothing, I would definitely recommend anything by N-fini!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Two pregnancies, a c-section, a highest weight of 331 lbs., gastric bypass surgery and then a loss of 140 lbs. have left me with a midsection that is jiggly, floppy, loose, and saggy. It really isn’t a pretty picture. For the most part I’ve ignored the mess, but there are certain shirts that really emphasize and accentuate just how bad my stomach is. So when I was at Target last week shopping for bras (don’t even get me started on how hard it is to find bras that fit well!), I saw and couldn’t resist purchasing the Slimplicity Open-Bust Camisole.

The Slimplicity Open-Bust Camisole is a very snug fitting cami (seriously, buy a size larger than your shirt size if you don’t want to feel like you’ve been vacuum sealed and shoe-horned into a sausage casing) that is meant to firm up and minimize a flabby, untoned midsection.

I’ve only had the chance to wear the Slimplicity Open-Bust Camisole twice now, but so far I’m loving it. However, let me get through the entire weekend with it before I write a detailed review!

Having a child with special needs can be difficult. But it’s not just the big things that can be difficult when you have a child with autism, such as I do. It’s the day-to-day things, like getting up in the morning, getting through the daily routine, etc., that can be the most troublesome. One battle I have with my son Ryan continually is over clothing. Well, it’s not so much of a battle as it is me reaching the point where it’s like, okay, if you don’t want to wear clothes, fine, but please stop changing them so frequently! It’s time like these I wish he were still a baby, when he could wear onesies that he couldn’t take off on his own, you know, those cute onesies that you get at baby showers, along with cute keepsake baby shower decorations.

Ryan will wear clothes, but if we’re not going out, or if he has just come inside, he’ll take off everything but his shirt and underwear. Usually the socks are the first to go, followed by the shorts. But then the socks may go back on. Only, he won’t put on the pair that he just took off, even if that pair had only been worn for a few minutes. Instead, he’ll go and get a new pair. This happens several times throughout the day. I’m pretty sure Ryan has a love/hate relationship with socks. He wants to wear them, particularly during the cooler months of the year, but he has sensory issues, and the pressure and friction that standard socks cause agitate him to the point where the socks just have to come off, and that’s that.

Enter SmartKnitKIDS Socks. These socks are blissfully free of the standard seams, bums and elasticized areas that normal pairs of socks have. They are completely seamless (in case you’re wondering, there is a slightly elasticized seam along the top of the sock, which holds it up, but this seam is on the outside, so the wearer does not feel it against their skin!), and even lack the standard defined heel, so that children who have sensory issues or other specific needs can wear them comfortably, however they choose to.

Knit-Rite, the company behind SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks, very generously sent me several pairs of socks to try with Ryan — and a pair for my daughter, Alyssa, too! She isn’t autistic and doesn’t have any sensory issues, but still, it’s nice for her to be included in things.

Ryan seemed to quickly adapt to the SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks. He took them off like he does his regular socks, but he also put them back on. He also complained to me when he somehow got a few drops of water on one of the SmartKnitKIDS socks (normally he’ll just wrench off any offending garment with nary a complaint, so the fact that he took notice to these particular socks being “sullied” with water says something), and asked me to clean them.

Ryan has worn his SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks on several occasions now, and it seems as though he likes them. They do come off when he gets home from preschool or in from playing outside, but they don’t come off as quickly, and he does seem more willing to keep them on. I also noticed that he doesn’t fidget with his sneakers when he is wearing these socks — that is something he has done in the past with regular socks.

As for my daughter, she is quite happy with her spiffy purple socks. I don’t think she even noticed the lack of seams!

If you have an autistic child or a child with any type of special needs or sensory issues, and can’t seem to get them to keep socks on their feet, give SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks a try! They’re truly seamless and lack the usual bindings and restraints of regular socks, they absorb moisture and wick away odors, and they’re available in several sizes and colors.

SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks are available for purchase here.

For children with sensory issues — such as my autistic son, who will routinely go through 4 to 10 or more pairs of socks a day if not watched closely — socks that are perfectly seamless and hug the feet rather than binding to them in irritating ways are a godsend.

I was sent three pairs of SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks to try out with my children: two pairs of white, and one pair of purple (for Alyssa, who loves purple). The socks feel thin yet very well made, and they’re oh-so-soft — so soft that I wish I had a pair for myself! True to the website’s word, there are no seams of any type, and the tiny bit of seam and cuff that is on the top of the sock is on the outside, so again, there is no pressure or irritation to worry about.

Since we have been going to the pool a lot, we haven’t had the chance to fully try out SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks, but you better believe they’re going to get a workout this coming week, as my son’s specialized preschool starts back up, and both kids will be attending a vacation bible school in the evenings.

At coloryourclothes.com, you have your choice of over a dozen designs that are already outlined onto t-shirts. Or, you can choose to purchase a custom design, where you add your own design to a t-shirt. Shirt sizes run from kids’ extra small to kids’ large, so preschoolers and tweens alike can show off their mad coloring skills.

Alyssa and Ryan each received a t-shirt from Wearable Art. Alyssa received the Princess design, and Ryan received the Space design. Each t-shirt was true-to-size, and each came packaged with a boxed set of six special pastel crayons. The instructions, which were clear and concise, specified that the kids should color their designs first. Then, when the designs are finished, a clean sheet of white paper should be placed over the design, and the design should then be ironed with a hot iron to set the colors and make the design permanent. Simple, right? It really was that simple! And moms? This was a total mess-free project, and one that the kids could direct themselves with! While they were busy coloring, I was busy researching acnepril reviews and planning dinner. It was a total win/win situation!

Once ironed, the design is indeed permanent. Both of the kids’ t-shirts have been washed (with bleach) twice, and there has been no side of color leaking or fading. Wearable Art is really a lot of fun! Alyssa and Ryan had a blast coloring their own shirts, and could barely sit still while I carefully ironed both designs and then waited for the shirts to cool before returning them to their artists. I’d definitely recommend Wearable Art for a rainy afternoon activity, a special treat, a fun party favor or even an event to have while at a party!

You can view all of the great designs available through Wearable Art at coloryourclothes.com. Don’t forget about custom designs! You can order right from the website, so how much more convenience could you ask for?

Psst… be sure to hold onto those specialized pastel crayons for future fabric-related arts and crafts activities!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
