My Scent Essence is a US-based company that believes in candle and wax products that are eco-friendly, biodegradable, and free of chemicals and toxins. Their waxes, which are made up of natural ingredients, scents and dyes, are available in dozens of different delightful scents. Their waxes are available in candles, tealights, ScentBeads, and special shaped pieces of wax known as ScentShakes. For the loose pieces of wax that do not contain a wick, My Scent Essence provides a variety of warmers. You can choose from plug-in warmers or the fancier, centerpiece-appropriate electric warmers and touch aroma lamps.

I received several ScentShakes to try out, as well as the elegant Star Stacked Clear Touch Aroma Lamp. The scents I received are Amber & Linen, Linen Filled Air, Beach Bathing, and Star Fruit & Mango. I’m a fan of linen scents and tropical scents, and all four scents are perfect for using in any room of the house, at any time of the year.

The Star Stacked Clear Touch Aroma Lamp runs on electricity, though as the name implies takes only a light touch to turn on. The included bulb is controlled by touching the base of the lamp, and has three brightness options. The brighter the bulb is, the faster the ScentShakes, which are sprinkled into a glass dish that sits on top of the touch aroma lamp, heat up. The touch aroma lamp is never unsafely hot, and while the wax certainly hurts if spilled onto skin (I accidentally spilled some on my hand last week), it’s not so hot that it leaves behind a burn or damaged skin. The lighting options also allow you to add additional lighting to a smaller room, such as a bathroom, or simply add a bit of cozy or romantic ambiance to a larger room. ♥

The scents themselves smell amazing. They’re strong enough to add a scent to the room that the touch aroma lamp is in, but not so strong that they’re cloying or overpowering. The scents last quite a while — I’ve been using my touch aroma lamp for a few weeks now, and all four bags of ScentShakes are still over half full!

Island Escape, from Glade’s Relaxing Moments collection, is the newest scent from Glade, and I fell in love with it the moment I smelled it this afternoon. I generally alternate between Glade and AirWick for scented oils, though I continuously use odor-combating Febreze scented oils for my son’s bedroom, the bathroom (mainly because of the cat litter), and the kitchen.

So, what made me choose a Glade scented oil in Island Escape? Well, it just smelled so good! One whiff of the scratch & sniff had me picturing summer, the beach, dragon fruit and passion fruit juices, and peaches. According to Glade, the scent should remind you of the tropics, summer-warmed figs and mangos. Let me tell you, they nailed it. This scent is the perfect combination of that, without being too strong or sickly sweet.

Over two years ago I received a bath & body kit from KLEAN Bath and Body. One item out of that set that I did not focus on too much or even really use was the KLEAN Mist. I came across it the other day when I was re-organizing the dozens of bottles of perfumes and lotions that claim a good chunk of the space on our dresser.

The KLEAN mist is designed for use on your body, your clothes, or simply the room you’re in. Scents it is available in include beach house, breathe, brown sugar, coco-mango, german chocolate cake, exhale, very vanilla, and the peppermint dream that I have. There are at least a dozen more scents; you can find them on the KLEAN Mist page.. You also have a choice between an 8ml bottle ($10.50) or a 4oz bottle ($19.50).

I decided to spray it into the air, since the air freshener in our room had run out, and the room was smelling a little… stuffy. I have to say, two shots of this stuff really filled the air. It wasn’t overly powerful, but it was long-lasting. I swear, it’s two days later and I am still getting whiffs of the stuff! That’s a good thing, of course. It’s nice to know that 1-2 sprays will last a long time. At this rate, I’ll have this little 4 oz. bottle around for quite a while!

The Glade commercials annoy the crap out of me, but I love some of Glade’s scents. I usually use the basic single scented oil plugin, but when I found a $4.00 coupon for Glade Lasting Impressions, I couldn’t resist buying one (even if I did initially make fun of the device, saying that the bottom of it looks like a butt).

I’ve had the Glade Lasting Impressions in our bedroom for about a month now, and I checked today and confirmed that both scent refills are still about half full. The plugin is quiet, and it does a great job at switching up the scents. This is a short review, simply because I’m getting to the point right away: I really like the Glade Lasting Impressions plugin, and it is definitely worth the money!

I like my cars to smell good, especially since I’m frequently transporting kids and sometimes my dog in them as we run here and there for groceries, a good sale, errands, whatever. So, I use air fresheners. Through the years I’ve used a variety of air fresheners, and I think my favorite ones are the liquid variety. The liquid ones seem to give off a scent that doesn’t get stale over time, though they generally don’t last any longer than the hanging cardboard variety.

One of my favorite types of liquid vehicle air fresheners is the Auto Expressions Vent Fresh. It’s available in a variety of scents (my favorites are fresh cotton and outdoor breeze), and the handy dial lets you control the intensity of the scent.
Vent Fresh works just as it says it should. It’s easy to install, pleasing to the eye, non-intrusive, and the scents are true to their names and not overpowering.

So, an update on the Renuzit TriScents I wrote about a few days ago: I love them!

Renuzit TriScents is an air freshener. It features three complementary oil based scents, lined up in three adjoining square shaped bottles, and kept housed together in a blue dome. When you’re ready to use the TriScents, you plug this whole package deal into the white electric powered air freshener, which goes right into the wall and blends quietly into the background. Every 45 minutes, a new scent is released. You can adjust the strength of the scents as they’re released: minimum to max, with a few steps in between.

I received a Renuzit TriScents last weekend, and plugged it into our bedroom, next to our bed. Since that particular wall isn’t too far from our bed, I set the scent strength to minimum, and let it be. Three days later, and I am loving the TriScents. I have it in Seaside Breeze, and the scents definitely remind me of the beach, and our vacation there. The scents smell good, each one is refreshing, and none are cloying or overpowering.

I’d definitely recommend Renuzit TriScents to anyone. You can get yours in any store that carries air fresheners, but you should definitely head to triscents.com to print out a coupon for savings on a starter kit first.

I saw a bottle of Renuzit Super Odor Neutralizer in the grocery store two days ago, and I just knew that I had to have it. It smelled good, and looked like a promising alternative to Febreze, whose scent I’m really not all that fond of.

Renuzit Super Odor Neutralizer promises to eliminate odors in fabrics, upholsteries and carpeting. And so far, it is doing exactly what it promised! I haven’t used it on the carpet, but it’s doing great with our sofa, desk chairs and the kids’ bed duvets, all of which see lots of action from people and cats every single day. The scent is light and clean, and it doesn’t hang around in the air a long time after spraying.
