Last week I placed an order for a $60 Android tablet at 1SaleaDay.com. While the tablet itself is on the cheap side and a bit of a disappointment (I don’t think it’s up to par with what we’re looking for in a tablet – namely, something that can handle Angry Birds and streamed media), 1SaleaDay.com gave me a very nice consumer experience. It was easy to register and complete the checkout process, and I was sent an receipt via email quickly, and was again notified when my order shipped. And my order arrived perfectly – packaged well, clearly identified, and right on time.
Thanks, 1SaleaDay.com!

I’m facing the very good possibility of having another surgery at the end of January, and I am not happy about it. But the nice thing about having such advance notice – four weeks before I have to call and schedule surgery, and another 1-2 weeks before the surgery itself – is being able to take the time to not only catch up on work, but get ahead. This’ll be my fourth surgery in three years, and yes, I am getting quite accustomed to IVs and healthcare carts and the sterile smell of hospital sheets.
Since I am looking at another surgery, I will be taking the time to schedule out some blog posts here on In My Bag, and on my personal blog, Jenn.nu. This way my blogs won’t have any kind of “disruption”, even if I myself am dealing with a life, interrupted moment.
This year I was heavily medicated on Black Friday, due to having exploratory laparoscopic surgery two days before, and then forcing myself to go to my husband’s aunt’s house for Thanksgiving the day before, but I still managed to take advantage of Black Friday – online, of course. I scored a pretty sweet deal on a surprise for my husband (it’s a Christmas present, and since he reads this blog I obviously can’t mention it) from JC Penney, and a super excellent deal on a Blackberry Playbook directly from Blackberry.com – a $399 tablet for just $189 and free shipping! :D
Did you get any great deals on Black Friday, online or offline?
You know what I could really go for? A really good steam cleaning for my carpets. Granted, I am rather anal about my carpets in that I make everyone — even strangers! — take their shoes off when they come into my house. I vacuum daily. And I use a carpet upholstery cleaner on my carpets every couple of months (I’d love to do it more often, but I just don’t have the time or the inclination). But nothing beats the power of a professional carpet cleaning. I’d absolutely love to get hooked up with The Steam Team (http://www.thesteamteam.com/), as I’ve heard really good things about their carpet cleaning services.

What all does The Steam Team offer? Plenty! Check out this list (and this doesn’t include everything):
- upholstery cleaning
- leather cleaning
- hardwood floor cleaning
- marble and tile cleaning
- air duct cleaning
They also provide specialty cleaning and extraction services in the case of water (such as water damage mold Austin), smoke, or pet damage. These types of damages can be very hard to clean up after, especially if you’re not experienced with these types of damages or if you’ve never used any of the cleaning products required to clean up after them.
For more information, visit The Steam Team at thesteamteam.com.
Today I signed up to be a Julep Maven. Julep is a brand of nail polishes and hand and foot care products. They have a few offline locations, but what’s of interest to me is their online presence at Julep.com. But what’s of true interest to me is their Julep Maven program. For $19.99 a month, you’ll receive a beauty box packed with goodies – nail polishes, creams, and other hand and foot products.
Psst… try Julep Maven today using coupon code FREE5, and instead of paying $19.99 + S&H for your first month’s box, you’ll pay just $5.00 and get free shipping!
Am I the only one who finds it hard to shop for my husband for Christmas? Birthdays are bad enough, but at least you only have to get one or two gifts. With Christmas, you’re on the hook for at least 3-4 — especially if you know he’s going to be getting you diamonds or something equally pricey! In my husband’s case, he has just about everything I could possibly think to get him or find as a recommendation – big screen TV, digital receiver, Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS Lite, Sony PlayStation Portable, a nice smart phone, an iPod, etc. What else is left? Clothes? Watches? Shoes? Cologne? Tools? Done, done, done, done, and done!
Oh well… I’m sure I’ll think of something snazzy. I just need to keep looking and brainstorming!
