I have been shaving, well, to put it delicately, everything from my underarms downward, since I was nineteen years old. So at this point it has been over eight years that I have been taking a sharp razor to various parts of my body, and yet I still deal with razor burn, razor drag, post-shaving bumps, irritation, sensitivity, and missed spots. Of all of those issues, it’s the missed spots that annoy me the most.
Enter Intimate Caress Shave Cream, which I found at EdenFantasys for $12.99 for a 9.5 ounce bottle. While you may think that’s a little pricey when compared to the $3 and $4 canisters of shaving gel and foam you can buy in any store, consider this: Intimate Caress Shave Cream is designed specifically for sensitive areas, meaning that you’ll have an easier time of getting a close, comfortable shave without missed spots and irritation.
I have been using Intimate Caress Shave Cream for several weeks now, mainly on my underarms and girly bits, and I’m impressed at the difference I can both see and feel when using Intimate Caress vs. another shaving cream or plain body wash. It smells good (I chose Coconut/Pineapple; next I may try Pomegranate!), it goes on easily, and a little goes a long way. My only critique of the product is that it does not “foam” in any way, shape, or form, as the product page on EdenFantasys would have you believe. But other than that, it’s an excellent product, and one that I would recommend. (I’d also recommend any of the other shaving products that EdenFantasys carries!)

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I would be reviewing the Borghese Spa Divine Gift Set from Image Beauty. The gift set features seven individual products:
- Cleansing Creme: dissolves and removes surface debris
- Fango Active Mud: detoxifies, stimulates and firms up skin
- Bagno di Vita Gentle Foaming Gel: invigorates skin all over your body
- CuraForte Moisture Intensifier: this moisturizer brings on an intense amount of moisturization
- Cura di vita Protettivo Protective Moisturizer: featuring a 15 SPF, this is great for face and body
- Tono Body Creme: an additional moisturizer for face and body
- Botanico Eye Compresses: great for soothing and calming tired eyes
The set arrived right before Thanksgiving, but due to having abdominal surgery I didn’t get the chance to use any of the products until about two weeks ago. Since then, I have incorporated all seven products into my daily routine, and I’m really loving the results I have noticed. The Cleansing Creme does a great job at cleaning my face, and even removing makeup that my makeup wipes may have left behind. I have noticed, however, that it’s a little drying, so I make sure to follow up with the CuraForte Moisture Intensifier after I get out of the shower. The Cura di vita Protettivo Protective Moisturizer: works very similarly to the Moisture Intensifier, though it also features SPF protection – so I’ll be saving this bad boy for the spring and summer months!
Back to the “cleaning” products: the Fango Active Mud works very nicely, but its detoxifying effects may be a little strong – I’ve noticed that I feel more than just a slight tingle when I’ve applied it to my face, so I don’t leave it on for more than 2-3 minutes (the package recommends leaving it on for up to 10 minutes).
The Bagno di Vita Gentle Foaming Gel is an excellent body wash. It has a nice, clean and minty scent, lathers nicely, and does a great job of leaving my skin feel clean and moisturized.
Last but certainly not least, the Tono Body Creme is a very nice moisturizer – I often apply this immediately after showering, while my skin is still warm and damp from the water. And the Botanico Eye Compresses feel great on tired eyes, especially after a long day of staring at my computer screen.
You can purchase the Borghese Spa Divine Gift Set and other great Borghese cosmetics at Image Beauty, and online retailer of beauty supplies and hair products.

Disclosure: This post was brought to you by Image Beauty.
I have been extremely near-sighted since third grade. But it wasn’t until I was 23 years old that I decided to ditch my prescription glasses (for the most part, anyway; there are times when I’m tired or lazy that I skip contacts in favor of a cheap pair of glasses) in favor of contact lenses. I was always interested in contact lenses, but for whatever reason never pursued getting a pair. I’m glad I did, because while there was an initial adjustment period in terms of getting used to the feel of them in my eyes (not to mention getting over having to touch my eyes at least twice a day, every day), contacts themselves are extremely comfortable, and definitely convenient.
But what’s not convenient — or cheap — is having to run to my optometrist’s office every time I need more contact lenses. Instead, I make sure to have a hard copy of my prescription, and then I purchase additional boxes of contact lenses from 1800contacts.com. 1-800-Contacts carries all of the well known brands, including Acuvue contacts (I love Oasys), and even some of the lesser known brands. If you need specialty lenses, such as for astigmatism (I have a moderate one in my right eye), you’ll be happy to know that 1-800-Contacts has those, too.
Ordering contacts and completing the checkout process is always a fast and efficient process, and 1-800-Contacts is always super-quick with shipping. Speaking of shipping, orders over $50 ship free! And the more boxes you purchase, the less each one is (generally), so there’s plenty of opportunity to save.

So far Santa Claus has been good to me this year.
From Jason (Nikon 70-300mm lens):
From Danielle ($25 Sephora gift card):
From Amanda (an amazing painted portrait of me, framed in a hot pink frame, YES!):
Now I’m just waiting for Santa Claus, aka Dan Claus, to give me a super-wonderful Christmas. ♥
Over the past few years my best friend, Jason (who is also my husband’s best friend – yes, my husband and I share a best friend. What, is that weird?), has occasionally shared with me the awesome deals he’s scored from a variety of daily deal sites. What is a daily deal site? Well, it’s a site that features just that – daily deals. But here’s the catch: the promoted deals only last for one day (that’s 24 hours – usually from 12:01am – 11:59pm so as not to confuse things by going from one day to the next in terms of calendar dates). Also, the promoted deals may only last as long as there is available stock. That means that depending upon quantity and popularity, a daily deal may last a full 24 hours, or on the flip side, it may not even last a full 24 minutes.
NoMoreRack.com is a daily deal site I discovered while doing some online Black Friday, Cyber Weekend, and Cyber Monday shopping. I did a quick check around for nomorerack reviews and the possibility of a nomorerack scam, and then I registered on NoMoreRack.com. Simply enter your email address, and you’re good to go. Now, here are some features and key points:
- Daily deals launch at 12:00pm EST
- Insanity Deals are EXTREMELY good deals – look for the purple boxes to spot them. However, they go fast, so you have to be fast!
- You can earn free products and even an iPad 2 by referring friends to NoMoreRack.com
Referrals may seem old-school in terms of methods of making money or scoring free products on the internet, but if you have a fairly active blog, a lot of friends on Twitter, or shopaholic family members on Facebook, then you’ll have no trouble earning free stuff! NoMoreRack gives out some really awesome prizes, including iPad 2s! And as April of AprilDecheine.com pointed out, she even scored a sweet Ralph Lauren belt just for referring six people.
Even though Christmas is just a few days away, you should definitely check out NoMoreRack.com. Maybe you’ll see a last-minute must-have for yourself or a family member, or maybe you just want to treat yourself to something now that you’ve crammed tons of presents for others under your Christmas tree. Happy shopping!
Do you do any post-Christmas shopping? I usually venture out on the 26th or 27th to grab cheap candy and discounted lights and garland (this year in particular I’m after blue and green lights, as well as a blue tree topper and skirt, and/or a green tree topper and skirt – can you tell that my husband wants to do a blue and green theme with next year’s Christmas tree?), but for the most part I stay out of the stores until after New Year’s, when I know things won’t be so insane.
So how about you – do you hit up the stores immediately after Christmas, or do you wait around until the craziness dies down?
My husband and I ventured into Target today for a card, contact lens solution, and a small meat and cheese tray to take to a friend’s house, and holy crap the place was insane. And to think, there are six more shopping days until Christmas. I saw people with enough stuff in their shopping carts to fill a skid steer. I can’t believe people wait until this late in the season to do the majority of their Christmas shopping. I completely own up to having a handful of things to pick up – one thing for my husband, two things for my brother, and one gift each for my aunt-in-law, my uncle-in-law, and my other aunt-in-law. But damn, when you consider that I’ve already purchased SO MUCH for so many family members, including my children, that’s not bad at all!
So tell me… how’s it going with your Christmas shopping?
