Due to being on a strong regimen of antibiotics for the last three weeks (one more week to go), I’m starting to have, ahem, issues, in the girly parts area. I’ve had very few yeast infections in my life, but the ones I have had are wicked. And yesterday I definitely sat up and took notice to the fact that I am right on the verge of one, and it’s not related to where I’m at in my cycle (which is god knows where, seeing as how I had two full-length, full-strength periods that lasted for six days each, with only a seven day reprieve between the two).
So I dug around in my medicine cabinet, and in addition to Monistat and Vagisil I came across a bottle of RepHresh Pro-B, which I had received as a sample while attending BlogHer in 2010. But don’t let the “sample” part fool you – this is a 30-day supply of probiotics that is designed to get my vagina’s pH balance back where it should be. RepHresh promises to “balance yeast & bacteria to maintain feminine health”, and I hope to God that it does. The capsules are small, and look to be thousands of tiny granules (the probiotics, I suppose) held in place by a clear quick-dissolve capsule.
In a few days I’ll be able to tell whether or not they’re working!
I recently signed up for a one year subscription to Lucky Magazine, since my daughter was peddling magazine subscriptions for Girl Scouts. And I have to say honestly…I am not impressed. To me, the magazine is nothing but one big advertisement. I get that everything is going to be about fashion, beauty, skin care, and weight loss, but when you can’t tell the ads from the actual “content” of the magazine, you know you have a problem.
Oh well. The subscription was $12, and if nothing else I may spot some cool makeup finds, and my kids can always use the magazines for arts & crafts purposes.

Most men and women go for gold, or the occasional platinum, when it comes to choose engagement rings and wedding bands. But did you know that there are other metal options as well? Titanium, tungsten, and tungsten carbide are just a few of the options. These metals are strong, durable, long-lasting, and of high quality – while they may not mimic gold in the color they produce, they are nevertheless quite beautiful. And some tungsten wedding bands are so amazing looking that you would have a hard time telling them apart from white gold or platinum, if it weren’t for the darker shade.
As for me, I have to admit, I’m a white gold kind of girl. I’m not a fan of yellow gold; in fact, the only yellow gold I own and wear is my engagement ring and wedding band. But my husband knows me well enough to make sure that any jewelry he purchases for me these days is made out of white gold, or even silver.
I subscribe to MomStart.com, and my mind was slightly blown when I read her review of the 2012 Kia Sorento. That’s a car, people. Who the hell reviews a car? Granted, she didn’t get to keep it, but still, Kia, or a local dealership, dumped off a brand new car in her driveway for her to crap up with her kids and their kid crap (let’s face it, little kids are messy!) and add miles to and possibly dings to (even from general road debris). Sheesh.
I have no interest in reviewing a car. Electronics? Makeup? Household appliances? Stuff for my kids? Bring ‘em. A spa in Huntington Beach> for me? Bring it. But a vehicle? I’ll pass.
I recently received a sample-sized bottle of Klorane Soothing Eye Make-up Remover with Cornflower Water from one of my Birchbox orders. Since I wear makeup just about every day, I’m always open to try new makeup remover options, though I generally prefer wipes. However, when it comes to particularly stubborn makeup, such as glitter, certain shadow primers, and mascara, it can pay to have liquid remover around.
Unfortunately, Klorane’s Cornflower water make-up remover did not pan out for me. I found that I had to use a lot of it (three pads worth) in order to take off basic shadow and mascara – no glitter, no densely packed shadow, and the mascara wasn’t waterproof. And even then, there was still purple residue (the color shadow I was wearing) that I had to take another makeup remover to in order to finish the job. While Klorane Soothing Eye Make-up Remover with Cornflower Water did indeed feel soothing and nice to use, I absolutely will not use a product that requires another product to clean up after it.
In summary, Klorane’s make-up remover was a disappointment.

I have set a few blogging goals for 2012, but they can all be summed up into one, really: Stay on task. I don’t want to put things aside for later, I don’t want to bookmark stuff for later. Eff later. Later becomes later which becomes laterrrrrrrrrrrr, and then I wind up rushing to catch up and doing a crappy job of it at times. So I’m all about NOW NOW NOW. This goal of mine explains why it’s 10:18pm on a school night and I’m sitting here blogging instead of doing the few things I meant to do over an hour ago, which included vacuuming my bedroom and living room carpets, and taking a shower. Oops. But unless I plan on checking out Resort Clerk Jobs, blogging and keeping up with my other online work is what helps to pay the bills, you know?
Another related 2012 goal is to branch out more in terms of product reviews. Companies are very willing to work with bloggers, because it’s a great way for them to get publicity, so I’m definitely going to be brushing up on that!
Do you have any 2012 blogging goals?
