Cheap flights?

17 Mar 2008 Filed under: Etc.

With the wallet gouging gas prices that continue to climb, is there such thing as cheap flights? Planes are fueled by fuel and gas, after all, so I would assume that airlines would need to implement a price hike to help cover the rising costs. Speaking of planes, have you ever been on one? I haven’t! I’m not far from being a quarter of a century old, and the highest I’ve been is, oh, the top of the Empire State Building!

Air Wick Scented Oils

17 Mar 2008 Filed under: Reviews

Air Wick Scented OilsWith the exception of the bathrooms, my son’s bedroom and the kitchen, I keep Air Wick Scented Oils throughout the house. We’ve used them in our last home and the one before that, and my mother has taken a liking to them after enjoying how good our house smells. She also jokes that she can easily shop for scents, since she can sample them by coming to our home.

While it’s true that I have tried different scents, my favorite scent from the Air Wick Scented Oils line would definitely be Calming Magnolia & Cherry Blossom. I love the scented oils from Airwick because they last a long time, while not being overpowering. The adjustable strength setting on each of the Air Wick plugins ensure that I can control just how much scent is released. I keep the settings set to low in the bedrooms, and a bit higher in the living room, since it is a larger area.

Payday loans

17 Mar 2008 Filed under: Etc.

payday loans certainly have their place. My husband and I have used Pennsylvania payday loans in the past, but only when a necessity arose. By a necessity, I mean a sudden bill or urgent financial need that couldn’t wait until our next paycheck. Payday loans should always be used responsibly, as they do come with their own set of interest rates and usage fees. It would be silly to get involved with payday loans for the use of a frivolous purchase.

Febreze NOTICEables

16 Mar 2008 Filed under: Reviews

Febreze NOTICEablesI first discovered Febreze NOTICEables in September of 2006, when I was looking for an odor neutralizer to place in my son’s bedroom. We had two diaper pails, one for his cloth diapers, and the other for baby wipes. We emptied both every other day, but in between things would get a bit smelly.

Well, here I am, a year and a half later, and I have Febreze NOTICEables all over my house! I use the scents that are odor eliminating, which are pure refreshment & summer storm, and clean citrus and citrus spray. Both do a wonderful job of clearing up the not so pleasant smells associated with bathrooms, areas where litter boxes are near, kitchens, and of course, my son’s bedroom and diaper pails. I also keep a Febreze NOTICEables in the living room, since that is the area of the house we are in most.

The NOTICEables are a little pricey, at $7 or so for a starter kit and $4.69 (Target!) for a refill, but I find that they’re well worth it. And they’re also long lasting!

I heart my bed

15 Mar 2008 Filed under: Everything else

I really do. Our bed is so ridiculously comfortable! Daniel’s grandmother bought it for us five and a half years ago, when we were debating between a memory foam mattress and a standard mattress. We settled on the standard mattress, because they discounted the matching box spring and threw in the bed frame for free. Our bed is SO comfortable. It’s a pillow top (on both sides of course), and just… ahh. I love it!

The best part about it? Our son was conceived in that bed. :)

Dear junk mail senders: you suck!

15 Mar 2008 Filed under: Etc.

My grandmother has been dead for three years and three months. Right after her death, when the funeral proceedings had been taken care of and we were over the initial shock and raw grief, my mother and I started contacting her utilities, credit card issuers and everyone else we could think of to notify them of her death. We sent out copies of her death certificate and everything.

Yet the mailbox for my grandparents’ house still gets clogged up with mail with her name on it. Last week there were three copies of the same furniture catalog, and policy offers from five different life insurance companies (hi guys, you’re a little late!).

Reminds me of when I worked for a telemarketing company and would call homes to renew magazine subscriptions… I hated the Reader’s Digest calls, because half the time I was asking some poor old man for his wife, who had just died X amount of months/weeks/days before. :(

Website: babybox.com

14 Mar 2008 Filed under: Reviews

babybox.com, as the name suggests, has everything baby related! From baby bedding to baby clothes to baby gifts, babybox.com can meet just about any baby related item need you have. I particularly like the baby gifts that babybox.com has. Don’t get me wrong, the baby gifts and outfits that you see in stores are always nice, but they’re also very common and mainstream. I seek out sites like babybox.com to find unique baby items that aren’t so often found in stores and purchased.

Speaking of baby bedding, I still have a few baby bedding items to post on FreeCycle…
