The Case Logic DesignWorks Catch-All is a little sack that does exactly what it is advertised to do: it provides a handy, hands-free and secure storage solution for small items like cell phones, digital music players, sunglasses, pens, and other types of little gadgets and items that tend to roll loose in vehicles.
I have the Catch-All in bright pink (it matches the lei, plastic butterfly & plastic Love Spell-scented dolphin that are dangling from my rearview mirror perfectly! I found it at Target for $4.99), and it hooked easily onto my driver’s-side vent. The hook, which is a flat piece of wire covered in the same fabric that makes up the little pouch, easily bends to fit around the slots and holes in a vehicle’s vents. Once bent into place it stays there — despite dropping my cell phone and a spare pen into the case regularly, it has never slid out of position.
If you’re looking for a handy and cheap storage solution for your cell phone or digital music player, check out the Catch-All!

I received a sample bottle of Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, and since I’m always interested in makeup removers, I was all too happy to give it a whirl.
The good: it works. It takes a very small amount of the product and very little effort to wipe away shadow, liner and mascara with a tissue or a cotton ball. There’s no real noticeable scent, and it doesn’t burn or otherwise irritate my skin.
The bad: it leaves behind a weird, oily-feeling residue. This is rather odd and contradictory, since the product advertises itself as being oil-free. I didn’t like the residue left behind on my skin, and wound up using an additional facial cleanser to remove that.
Overall, I would probably not purchase this product, simply because of the gross residue issue!

Between the high cost of heating our home (and thus wanting to preserve gas wherever possible) and the inefficiency of heating up an entire kitchen oven for the sole purpose of cooking a small roast, a frozen pizza or a TV dinner, my husband and I decided that it might be a good idea to invest in a toaster oven. So while we were out today, we stopped by Lowes and after looking over the various models available, decided upon the Oster 6 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster Oven. Its key features include:
- convection cooking
- broiling
- temperature up to 450°
- the capacity to hold six slices of toast, or a small 12″ frozen pizza
- two cooking racks
Straight out of the box I can tell you that the Oster 6 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster Oven is nice to look at — it features a sleek stainless steel finish and embellishments. It’s also rather compact — for the time being it is sitting on top of my microwave, and it isn’t as long or wide as it is.
I look forward to using this toaster oven, especially on those nights where I’m making little pieces of meet for just my two preschoolers and myself!
I have four cats and one dog. I care about my animals, and I feel it is very important to serve them high quality, nutritious food. And by high quality, nutritious food I don’t mean the crap that Iams and Purina serve up in a hippie-designed bag with pretty illustrations of fruits, vegetables and fish. I mean actual pet food that is nutritious, healthy, and not composed of grain and dead, decaying and disease-ridden animal parts.
Wellness Dog & Cat Food is by no means cheap, but you know what they say: you get what you pay for. Wellness cat foods, for example, are comprised of actual chicken & chicken meal, rice, vegetables and fruits, and healthy nutrients and minerals. And Wellness dog foods offer an impressive selection of healthy, nutritious ingredients for dogs.
Wellness may be more expensive than the low end crap that regular stores sell (FYI, Wellness is typically available in specialty pet stores such as That Fish Place and Pet Supplies Plus), but it’s money worth spending, for three reasons:
- Healthy food is the best choice for my pets.
- Even though the food costs more and you don’t get as much in a bag, it lasts longer, because it’s nutritious and filling. My pets don’t consume as much in one sitting as they might if the food was cheap grain- and corn-based product.
- Healthy food = less junk to be passed through the digestive system = less poops that are not as smelly. Seriously!
So if you’re looking for a healthy, nutritious food for your cat(s) or dog(s), I highly recommend Wellness.

If I may be perfectly honest, I am not all that thrilled with Bounty Basic. I wouldn’t have purchased them to begin with, except that I was in desperate need of paper towels, but the grocery store obviously doesn’t carry Target’s generic brand, and their prices for the regular Bounty paper towels were ridiculous. So, I paid $5 for an eight pack of Bounty Basic.
In summary, I burned through the Bounty Basic paper towels way too quick. They didn’t do very well for “basic” clean ups or “everyday messes”. I’ve had much better luck with Target’s generic, and I think that is what I will stick with.

Earlier this summer Lane Bryant sent me a new bra to review — the Cacique Back Smoothing bra. It’s designed to smooth out your appearance “from every angle”.
My first impression of the Cacique Back Smoothing bra is that it is a lot like the smooth satin full-coverage bra. But after wearing it for a bit, I can definitely find some differences. The first big difference is how the bra fits — like a glove, almost. The sides and back are wide and supportive, but flat, so that there aren’t any noticeable, unflattering bulges.
The other differences I noticed really aren’t that positive, in my opinion. The bra is comfortable, fits well, and provides great support and lift, but one thing it does not provide is give. You know how most bras are slightly stretchy around the cups, back band and straps? This bra isn’t. What you see is what you get. There is no give or stretching. So if you have the cups runneth over syndrome, you may wish to consider buying this bra in a bigger cup and/or band size.
Besides the slightly spillage-due-to-no-stretching issue, the bra is comfortable, and definitely molds itself to my body nicely. Although I have to say it is not the best summer bra, first because of the material, and second because it’s full coverage, which means the cups come up higher, the sides come up higher, the back comes up higher, and so on and so forth. It really sticks out with tank tops, and with many lower cut tops, too.
