Way back in July I mentioned that I would be reviewing clothing from Earthlings Organic Clothes. Don’t worry — I haven’t forgotten about the review! But we’ve been quite busy, and the clothes I received for my children weren’t summer appropriate. But now that the temperatures are only reaching the 70s during the day, it’s definitely time to break out some of the cooler weather clothes, including the lovely dress and adorable pants that Earthlings Organic Clothes sent me.
Earthlings Organic Clothes specializes in clothing that is made from cotton and other natural fibers that haven’t been bleached or otherwise chemically processed. Using natural, organic cotton and chemical-free processing and dyeing results in clothing that is soft, comfortable and free of the harmful chemical and pesticide residue that can irritate delicate baby and toddler skin.
So, onto the clothes! First there is the lovely kimono dress that my daughter loves to twirl about in. It is available in several hues; as you can see we chose blue and brown.
For my son, a comfortable pair of pocket pants that are perfect for playing in or lounging in:
Both articles of clothing are well-made, true to size, comfortable to wear (or so my daughter says, and my son hasn’t complained or made an effort to take the pants off), and absolutely adorable! It’s hard to find clothes like these in regular retail and department stores, so if you’re after something that is both fashionable and organic, Earthlings Organic Clothes are definitely the way to go!

The Soy Delites Candles I told you about have been a real delight to have around! The company was kind enough to send me several candles. There’s a 9 oz. soy candle in sandalwood amber, a 5 oz. soy candle in patchouli, and a ten-pack of colored tea lights in cucumber melon, ginger lemongrass, pomegranate, sandalwood amber and vanilla.
The first thing that impressed me about Soy Delites was the attention to detail, and the care with packaging. In so many instances I order a product — a nice product — only to receive it in haphazard packaging. As you can see, Soy Delites definitely takes care with the packaging and transport of its candles:
Once out of the box, packing peanuts and bubble wraps, I was immediately impressed over how good the candles smelled! A lot of candles don’t give off much of a scent until they are lit (and have been lit for quite some time), but these candles could definitely be smelled and enjoyed close-up, and without being lit. However, they weren’t overpowering or overwhelming, either. There was just the right amount of scent — enough to draw you in and have you craving a lighter so that you could enjoy the real thing.
Soy Delites Candles are enjoyable to look at (check out the pretty colors!), and even more enjoyable when in use. My husband immediately claimed ownership of the 9 oz. sandalwood amber, while I preferred the tea lights in pomegranate and vanilla. Speaking of vanilla: normally it’s a cloying, sickeningly-sweet scent that I am not fond of, but Soy Delites managed to tone it down and get it just right. I can’t get enough of their vanilla scent!
If it’s soy candles that you’re after, allow me to recommend Soy Delites. Their candles are reasonably priced, and definitely of high quality! Their scents and visual appearance make them perfect for any type of interior decor.

I’ve had the chance to try out the Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal that I mentioned two weeks ago. And I have to say, I love them! As I had mentioned, my biggest problem with teeth whitening strips is that they don’t fit very well or stay in place, due to teeth crowding and an overbite issue that I have.
But Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal DEFINITELY stay in place. As advertised, they are form fitting. The strips themselves are incredibly flexible — they remind me of saran wrap, only thicker and obviously more durable. The solution used in the trays seems to be doing a decent job of whitening my teeth (after four days’ use I definitely noticed my teeth were whiter and not so dull!), without causing the sensitivity issue I’ve encountered with other products.
In short, I plan on continuing to use Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal, and would definitely recommend them to others. They’re a bit pricey, but you can request a $7 coupon from their website, and coupons.com may also have a similar coupon. And if you’re lucky enough to find them on sale at Target ($34.99 instead of $39.99), then you have the opportunity to get them for twelve bucks less than the normal price!

A little over a week ago I mentioned receiving a sample of Evolve Dog Maintenance Formula With Lamb.
I gave Leah some for her breakfast, and then the rest of it for dinner. She ate it, but I’m not sure how thrilled she was with it.
One thing I don’t like about the Evolve Dog Food is the size of the kibbles. Leah falls right in between the small dog and medium dog size, and she definitely benefits from smaller-sized kibbles. From the way she was eating the food I think she likes the taste, but not the size of the kibbles. As a result, I probably wouldn’t purchase this food for Leah.

Last week I mentioned that we were having Hatfield Family Classics for dinner. So far the only variety I’ve seen is the rotisserie seasoned pork loin roast with vegetables and wedges of red-skinned potatoes, but let me tell you, it is delicious! The meat was moist, juicy, incredibly tender and succulent. The vegetables were tasty, and the potatoes were absolutely amazing.
Cooking the Hatfield Family Classics was as simple as mixing hot water and the seasonings packet in the slow cooker, then dumping in the meat, vegetables and potatoes and letting everything simmer for six or so hours.
And the meal? Absolutely delicious. So easy to make — and perfectly “accessorized” with some Grands biscuits! I’d definitely recommend this meal to anyone who wants something hearty, nutritious and delicious.

My hair is getting pretty long, though my judgments is based on my own determination of short vs. long. In any case, my hair is also coarse and quite thick, and here it is at its full length as of a month ago. So putting it up and keeping it up can be a bit of a challenge, especially if I want to do something more than the standard ponytail. But every little bit I’ll find new clips and barrettes and things, and purchase them and give them a try in the hopes of having success. One type of clip I have had great success with is the Vidal Sassoon For Thick Hair Claw Clip. Its deceptively simple design does a great job at keeping twisted & wrapped hair in position wherever I wind it up and place it at on my head.
This clip doesn’t slide or eventually loosen and give way, as other clips are prone to do. It provides all-day hold that never needs adjusting. I love this clip!

I love good smelling things. Most of all, I like a good smelling house! With kids and cats and a dog that sometimes smells worse than all four cats and two kids combined, you better believe I stock up on plug-in air fresheners, sprays and candles. Since I can’t run away on Branson vacations to good smelling retreats, I stock up on the good smelling stuff to use here at home.
When it comes to things that make my home smell good, candles in particular are my favorite, simply because there are so many styles and scents available! Plus you can mix and match different scents to create the perfect combination for seasons, holidays and even specific occasions.
Anyway, I’m in the process of reviewing candles from Soy Delites! At first light (haha, aren’t I punny?), they’re wonderful. They look good, smell good when unlit, and smell even better when lit (I tried out one of the tea lights, and my husband is burning one of the larger candles). I’ll definitely post a full review in another day or so. I want to get the chance to try out all of the scents!
