I love my Schick Intuition razor. The razor’s large, contoured handle makes it easy to hold and manipulate around curves. And unlike other razors that feature cartridge refills, the Schick Intuition’s cartridge offers its own shave gel – a special Skin Conditioning Solid that, when wet, provides a moisturizing lather that is more than enough for you to shave comfortably with, without having to add any shaving cream or foam. Read my review of the Schick Intuition here!

Anyway, Schick Intuition has teamed up with organizational expert Jill Pollack to help you get organized – from your desk at work to the scattered beauty products all over your bathroom vanity. Great ideas from Jill include:

Get belongings ready the night before for quick and easy access in the morning. Try placing items by the door to shorten and simplify your routine.

Categorize and store like items / like uses together; Hats, Gloves, Scarves, Cooler, Blankets.

Designate a drawer or shelf as a home for purses and wallets, cell phones and chargers, sunglasses and loose change.

And my favorite: Make sure to schedule time for yourself that is nonnegotiable. A Skype chat with an old friend, a yoga class, a massage.

Of course Jill loves the Schick Intuition razor, the 2-in-1 razor that provides moisturizing conditioning solid and four blades to allow you to get a close, smooth shave in one fell swoop (or glide, as the case may be). And right now Schick is offering the fabulous Intuition razor in three limited edition handle styles:

Be sure to visit Schick Intuition on Facebook, click the Like button, then visit the Simplify and Save section to take a quick organizational quiz and access to $4 in Schick Intuition coupons!

I won’t reveal the details, but let’s just say that between new tires, an oil change, and a yearly inspection and emissions, I’ll probably be sinking about a third of the value of my husband’s car into a mechanic’s wallet this week. *cry*

But when a car is running, and it’s running reliably, and it gets you and your family members from point A to point B, it’s priceless, so I guess I should quit my moping, and be grateful that I have not one but two running, reliable vehicles (*knocks on wood*) in my driveway.

Trying to pick out the best car insurance package for our cars is a huge pain in the butt. Determining the value of our vehicles versus our income versus deductibles versus the likelihood of an accident…oy…it all makes my head spin. And to think, this is just a basic thing like car insurance, something many consumers deal with. Not something complicated, like a fidelity bond. In the end, we usually choose comprehensive coverage for the newer/pricier vehicle (Dan’s – he has a 2005 Hyundai Sonata), and liability coverage for the older/cheaper vehicle (mine – I have a 2002 Kia Spectra).

Once the insurance plan is figured out, it’s set up on auto-pay, and that’s that. Then… we cross our fingers and hope we never need to report an accident! And so far, with the exception of an accident that I was not at fault for, way back in July of 2005, we haven’t had to! Yay for good (or lucky, lol) driving.

I picked up a bottle of it because I somehow received a coupon covering the entire cost of it, and conditioner is one thing you can always make use of (especially in this household, where three out of four of us have bleached hair and thus can use the extra hydration!).

Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Conditioner, as the name suggests, is a condition that is infused with keratin, which is a type of protein that aids in making hair smoother, sleeker, and easier to manage and style. I’ve been dealing with frizz, especially on humid days, so Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Conditioner sounded just like what I needed.

I have used Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Conditioner on several occasions now, both for myself and for my children, and I really like it. For a “basic” store-brand product, Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Conditioner does really well. It has a nice scent that isn’t overpowering, and the infusion of keratin really does seem to go a long way in providing an extra booth of smoothness and sleekness – without weighing down hair or leaving it feeling oily or filmy. This is one conditioner I’ll definitely purchase again – I’ll have to try the shampoo, too!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Between my husband and I moving a few times, and helping my mother move and store things when she was in between homes, I’ve learned a few things when it comes to storage units. First and foremost, don’t worry about buying the biggest possible unit. Remember, you can go up. If you pack things neatly, and pack them tightly, you should be able to utilize just about every last inch of a store unit. Secondly, unless you are going to be making the investment into a climate-controlled storage unit (which is more expensive, meaning that if you need to have it, the only way you’ll avoid spending more is if you pick a smaller-sized unit), you need to take care when storing electronics, as well as items that are sensitive to moisture. Electronics: don’t store them, period. This is coming from someone whose TV blew up as a result of being in a non-climate-controlled storage unit during the months of June and July. In terms of furniture, I’d recommend mattress bags for your mattresses, and garment bags for pricier and delicate clothing.

Most importantly, shop around, and be sure to check out storage units in person, even if you’re able to secure one online or over the phone. You should always verify the condition of a storage unit in person, and check out the property it’s located in. Be sure to ask about security cameras, locked gates, and hours of operation, as well as any late fees, and rules and regulations regarding items you’re not allowed to store. It always pays to ask — and be informed — before you sign the dotted line.

I subject my nails to a good 40-50 hours of keyboard usage per week, plus plenty of household work, so it’s not common for them to wind up breaking once they get a little beyond the edges of my fingertips.

Well, I am happy to report that thanks to Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Hardener — which applies and can be used just like a base coat — I haven’t had any issues with my nails breaking in almost two months! Just one coat of the Diamond Strength Hardener makes my nails visibly stronger, and they definitely feel stronger – they don’t have the flex and give (and flake and crack and chip) that they do even with 2-3 coats of regular base coats and nail polish.

When it comes to choosing a web host, I’d like to think that I’m not overly picky. Like many domain owners, I do set out with a few specific needs in mind. For some it’s the ability to run special scripts. For others, it’s web hosts who can provide support for specific pieces of software, such as Joomla (I’ve read that Joomla Hosting has been in higher demand recently). But for people like me, I ask for only the following:

Decently priced plans

Secure data

Backups

Clearly outlined terms

cPanel for websites’ backend software

I’m a huge lover of cPanel. What can I say? It’s what I started with over a decade ago, and I’m familiar with it, and thus I prefer to stick with it.
