We live on a small dairy farm just outside of Dexter, Michigan. My husband was born and raised here, but I was raised in a big metropolitan city. It took me a good while to get used to the much slower pace of living on a farm. First of all there is never any traffic. And, since we raise most of our food here, we don’t have to even go into town to the supermarket but maybe once every two or three weeks. When I first moved here after we got married, we did not even have internet. I pretty much thought I had moved to the ends of the earth. I told my husband that I could not survive without the internet, and he told me he would look into it. The next thing I knew he had signed us up for Dexter satellite internet. Now I can feel like I am in the real world again and not deserted out here on the dairy farm. At the very least I can now shop online. There is not a good store within a hundred miles of here.
