In an effort to be more eco-friendly, I’m cutting down on the amount of plastic bags I use. When I do bring home plastic bags for grocery stores, I re-use them as liners for the bathroom trash cans, rather than purchasing separate, smaller-sized garbage bags for that purpose. But still, there’s something to be said for reusable bags and tote bags. Not only are they more eco-friendly, they’re more durable than plastic bags, and are almost always designed to not only hold more, but be carried comfortably, either over your shoulder or in your hands.
SnapSac enables consumers to rethink the decision to use plastic grocery bags by offering stylish, high quality, durable, and functional reusable tote bags. The founder of SnapSac, Lisa Foster, reports that in 2005 less than 5% of American consumers made use of reusable bags. Now, in 2012, her research is showing that 54% of female shoppers in the 18-55 age demographic use reusable bag users. And now I am going to become one of them!
SnapSac generously sent me four of their SnapSacs:
- Social (Petite Tote): 18″ x 12″ x 7.5″, perfect for the times when you need something a little bigger – or something in addition to – your purse
- Splurge (Super Tote): 24″ x 16.5″ x 12″, perfect for a small grocery shopping trip or a change of clothes
- Shoppe (Grocery Tote): 12.5″ x 17″ x 8″, great for holding heavier groceries; its depth makes it easy to place items like liters of soda, gallons of milk, and cereal all together in one bag
- Spree (Mega Tote): 28″ x 19″ x 12″, bring home everything and the kitchen sink in this bad boy!
I can’t wait to hit up the grocery store and pet store with these stylish, functional bags. I’m looking forward to reducing the amount of plastic I contribute to factories producing, and having a convenient, reliable way of packing up my purchases, transporting them to my car, then bringing them into my house.
