I have been an avid digital photographer for several years now, and I enjoy sharing my favorite photos on Flickr, and showcasing them around my house in both print form and in digital form (via a digital photo frame that I received from a friend for my 25th birthday). But I’ve never thought to take my photos on the go with me, so when the opportunity to review a digital photo keychain from WholesaleKeychain.com came up, I was all for it.
I received the green digital photo keychain & keyring with stand, which includes the digital photo keychain (complete with one of those spiffy clip-on keyrings), a snazzy little stand to stand it up in, a USB cable, and a little instruction manual. The instruction manual outlined the process of connecting the digital photo keychain to your computer via the included USB cable, and then installing and running the included firmware/software, but that should be fairly self-explanatory.
The digital photo keychain also came with custom engraving, which is an option that is available for an additional $5.99. I was offered the engraving so I took it (I had a dorky little phrase put on the back of mine), but normally it’s the kind of thing that would probably be best reserved for gifts or promotional items. The engraving came out nicely, which was a change from the cheap and lopsided engraving I’ve often seen on various products.
Uploading photos to the digital photo keychain was a cinch. I simply connected the keychain to my computer, ran the software, then dragged photos to the software window, hit save, and watched as the photos were transferred to the keychain. I charged up the keychain (I left it connected to my laptop for a few hours), then stuck it on my keyring, where it has hung ever since. The body of the digital photo keychain seems pretty resilient, as it has yet to show any wear and tear from clanging around against my keys and my other keychains. The battery life is impressive, as I’ve turned on the digital photo keychain several times and have yet to run down the battery. And the photos? They look great. See for yourself:
