ProFlowers.com’s green plants
We have a lot of living things in our house (four humans + 16 pets, and no, that number is not an exaggeration!), but one thing that has always been missing is a plant of some sort! I was inspired to want to add a plant to our household after visiting my brother-in-law’s house and seeing the lovely tree (I think it’s a rubber tree, but to be honest I don’t remember) that is flourishing in their living room. So when ProFlowers offered me a free product to review, I jumped at the chance to add a plant to our house!
ProFlowers has a lot of green plants, but I settled on the Gardenia Bonsai. The Gardenia Bonsai is an established plant, a tree really, though it gets no bigger than 8 to 9 inches (excluding the 3.5″ tall bonsai potter, which is a lovely blue with a glazed finish). It’s the perfect indoor house plant, though it requires sunlight and at least some humidity; and during the summer months it will thrive outdoors, should you choose to put it on your patio or deck. The Gardenia Bonsai blooms during the summer months, so if you receive it during the months of May – August, don’t be surprised if it arrives with buds or full-on flowers!
My Gardenia Bonsai arrived promptly last Thursday morning, via UPS, in a specially padded and reinforced cardboard box that had a sticker on it alerting me to the fact that there was a live plant inside. Since it’s a four year old plant, it was already well established in its potter, and just needed a spot in the sunlight and some water. I’ve only had the Gardenia Bonsai for two in a half days, but in that short amount of time two buds have bloomed! The tree is beautiful, and it’s also calming and quite serene to look at. I’d love to have it in our living room, but for its sake I’l keep it in our kitchen, on our windowsill.
I’m really impressed at the quality of the Gardenia Bonsai. ProFlowers clearly places a lot of importance on high quality products that look just like what is depicted in the photos on the website, because the Bonsai tree I received looks just like the one pictured on the product page. ProFlowers shipped quickly, and included a helpful proper care guide, so I knew exactly how to get my cute little tree situated.
