I usually shy away from pastel and frosty nail polish colors, simply because they look so washed out with my skin tone, but something drew me to Nicole by O.P.I‘s Hint of Mint.
Awesome color, no? The only downside is that it’s definitely on the transparent side. It took four layers to get the color to be that solid!

I tried the same color last night, and at four coats I felt there was just too much nail polish on, especially after the top coat, and knew that it wouldn’t last (though I am notorious for killing my freshly painted nails).
I recommend getting a white color and using it as a base. It takes a total of four coats max – one white base, one to two coats of the color, and topcoat.
