These days, I don’t go anywhere without first checking to see if there are coupons available. Yesterday, for example, I put together a short shopping list for my husband, since he had to go out and I wanted him to stop by Target and pick up a few things. On my list were fruit snacks for today’s pool outing (I always pack a lunch; it’s so much cheaper than buying food for everyone from the concession stand!), carpet cleaner for my new Bissell ProHeat 2x, AAA batteries (for a few, uh, “product reviews”), and bread. Bread coupons are practically non-existent, but I know that between Coupons.com, Target.com/coupons, Dealtaker.com and my local Sunday newspaper I’d probably find some coupons for the other products on my list. And what do you know? Between all my sources, plus a little promo sheet that was included with my new Bissell carpet cleaner, I was able to come up with the following:
- Save $0.50 on two fruit snacks (manufacturer coupon, printed from coupons.com)
- Save $2.00 on any size Bissell carpet cleaner formula (manufacturer coupon, included with my carpet cleaner)
- Save $1.00 on any Energizer battery purchase over $5 (manufacturer coupon, found in the Sunday paper)*
- Save $1.00 on any Energizer battery purchase over $5 (Target coupon, found on Target.com/coupons)*
*Target allows you to combine one manufacturer coupon and one of their coupons on any item in the store. So I saved $2 on batteries, whee!
My savings? $4.50. Not bad for a $61 purchase (we had a few extra food items plus an $8 tank top in our shopping cart as well).
So like I said, I am all about coupons. When it comes to shopping for office supplies at Staples and the like, you better believe I’ll be checking out latest money saver staples coupons first! So many coupons are good for online and offline, and many have no expiration dates or minimum purchase requirements, so it’s very easy to find coupons that fit right into your shopping list and budget.
