Tell me that Lee’s Betta Keeper isn’t a really cool idea. A hexagonal-shaped 60 oz. aquarium that can be divided in half to allow two bettas to live in the same tank without being able to kill one another. I picked this up since it was just $6.99 and I wanted a cute little tank to keep on my desk, but for the time being I just have one betta in it. And at 60 oz. in size, this tank is the perfect size to sit on your desk or counter!
I picked up my Betta Keeper at PetSmart, and it included the tank of course, as well as gravel, two plastic plants, a divider, and a lid (note: the pink ornament shown in the below photo was purchased separately). I tossed the divider, because to be honest with you while bettas can live in small tanks, I don’t think it’s a nice thing to enforce for anything more than a short period of time. It was easy to dump the gravel in, obviously. But the plants were another story — there’s no way to attach them to the bottom of the tank (like you can with the plastic plants that are included with the WonderWaters Aquarium). Since they’re cheap looking and rather pointy, I went ahead and tossed them.
Bottom line: for $6.99, you can’t beat the Betta Keeper. It’s small and cute, but more than enough for 1-2 bettas! It would make a great gift for a baby shower, if mom-to-be is into fish. It would also make a cool birthday gift or holiday present!
