My mother recently treated me to the HP Mini 311, which is an 11.6″ netbook. I mention the dimensions of the netbook because 11.6″ is not the standard, and so finding a sleeve or case for that size is going to be a bit of a challenge. The very day I received my Mini 311 in the mail I set out for my local Staples, in the hopes of finding something that would accommodate it. I did have two other conditions to meet as well, which made my search all the more difficult. First, it had to be a basic form-fitting sleeve. No case or bulky bag. And second, it couldn’t be hideously ugly.
Well, it took me two Staples and a Best Buy, but I did get lucky with the BUILT Laptop Sleeve. Obviously it’s designed for laptops, albeit smaller ones, but it does the job perfectly. There’s about an inch of extra length that allows my netbook to slide back and forth, but other than that it is securely tucked inside the sleeve. The heavy duty double zipper slides easily but firmly along its track, and the sleeve itself feels sturdy and protective without being unnecessarily thick or bulky. And the print, micro dot, is just divine. Seriously, it’s cute and spiffy and funky and sassy. It also hides dirt, which is a nice bonus.
