A few weeks ago I shared my opinion on Fresh Step Crystals, since I routinely mix that into whatever standard clumping litter I’m using.
The first bucket, the blue Instant Action, wasn’t too bad. It clumped nicely, though a lot of the pee clumps tended to break apart when I would scoop them out. But the red bucket, the 24/7 Performance? Pfft. I wouldn’t use it if you gave it to me for free. It’s horrible at masking odors, and worse yet, pee clumps seem to immediately crumble. I have changed the litter box twice in the past week, despite scooping twice daily as I normally do. In comparison, Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat cat litter lasts a long time, controls odors decently enough, and the clumps it creates actually stick together.
I’m about halfway through the red bucket, and at this rate I’ll be back to the tried and true Arm & Hammer cat litter in another two weeks or so.
