I don’t know why I went for such a drastically dark color in comparison to the last few shades I’ve worn, although a recent commercial about Amazon books that featured a woman with super-dark polish may have had something to do with it. But in any event, here is how Maybelline Express Finish in Special Sparkle looks when layered (three coats) over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Gunmetal (two coats):
On a related note, I have a love/hate relationship with glitter. It’s awesome when it’s on, and chips are easy to repair, but getting the stuff off is another matter altogether. My only advice is to always apply a topcoat before applying glitter, and use a coarse washcloth soaked in nail polish remover to scrub it off!
