Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier
I have been meaning to write about this humidifier for several months, as I picked it up in mid-November, when my daughter got a cold that was making her very congested, but I never got around to it. But now that I’m sick and I’ve been running the humidifier nearly non-stop for the last four days, I thought it’s about time I give it a review. Especially since I’m sitting here researching and writing about herpes simplex 2 and other herpes medications, and the humidifier is making it a bit easier for me to breathe.
So, the humidifier. It’s a Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier that works with or without the addition of Vicks VapoSteam. On its own, it pumps out a mist of warm water. With the Vicks VapoSteam, the warm mist is accentuated by Vicks, which helps to loosen phlegm and mucus and sooth irritated nasal and throat membranes.
There are two things that I love about the humidifier, besides the fact that it works and works well. First, it’s whisper-quiet. I have it sitting on the edge of my computer desk, so when I’m sleeping it’s less than two feet away from my head. Yet it’s quiet enough that I fall right to sleep. The second thing that I love is the 1-gallon reservoir. On high, the Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier lasts 10-12 hours. On low, closer to 24 hours. Either way, that’s a long time to go without having to worry about getting more water!
Bottom line, this humidifier rocks, and it was well worth the $30 I spent for it!
