Store name + coupons in Google = savings!
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about shopping online, it’s that there is always the possibility to save money. When you walk into a regular store, you pay whatever the shelf tag says, unless you have a coupon or there’s a sale going on. Now for food, household cleaning products, paper products and the other items that make normal, mundane life convenient and pleasant, that’s not such a big deal. I’m pretty sure you’ll pay the same price for Tide detergent online as you would in the grocery store or in Target. But when it comes to shopping for clothing, or big-ticket items, particularly electronics, you better believe you can almost always get a better deal online!
Here’s a perfect example. A few weeks ago I saw this gorgeous cranberry and pink striped sweater at Torrid. In-store price? $34. Online price? $34. But wait! I pulled up Google, typed in “Torrid + coupon code”, and wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am, I was presented with a coupon code that knocked ten bucks off that sweater.
I definitely plan to do the majority of my holiday shopping online. Screw Black Friday; I’m all about Cyber Monday and the great sales that are in store. I’m already poring over ads that many of the big e-tailers are posting, and I’m bookmarking coupon code sites so I can combine Cyber Monday sales + coupons to save even more.
How do you plan on doing your holiday shopping? Will you brave the stores (have I mentioned that I have never ventured out on Black Friday before 6:00pm?), or will you choose to bask in the convenience of online shopping instead?
