DenTek Fun Flossers DenTek sent me a pack of DenTek Fun Flossers to try out. They’re disposable kids floss holders, but their neon bright colors and fruity flavors make them appealing for kids. Flossing is a good habit to instill as early as possible. While brushing twice a day will remove bacteria and build-up on the surfaces of teeth and on the surface of the tongue, flossing removes the bacteria and gross build-up that accumulates between teeth — the small nooks, crannies and crevices that most toothbrushes cannot get into.

My husband really got into flossing last spring, when it became apparent that some of his dental problems were tied in with the beginnings of gingivitis. Not long after he began brushing twice a day and flossing as if his very life depended on it, I too began flossing and paying more attention to my dental hygiene. Our kids, naturally, see what we do and want to emulate it.

I’m happy to report that the DenTek Fun Flossers are a hit. I first tried them myself, and was happy to see that I could use the flosser with one hand and apply eye cream or remove makeup with the other. My children were both immediately attracted to the bright colors (Alyssa opted for pink, of course; while Ryan chose green), and got right to business with flossing. Alyssa has gotten so good at it that she barely needs a mirror! Ryan benefits from us helping him floss, though he certainly knows the basics and likes to have a go of it on his own.
