Flexi Classic Cord Leash
I have a Pug. She loves to go for walks, but she’s bad about pulling and wrapping herself around my legs — or around the legs of anyone that is walking her or near her. So while I was at That Fish Place last night, I picked up the cat food I was there for, but I also made a pit stop in the dog leashes section and picked up a Flexi Classic Cord Leash.
The Flexi Classic Cord Leash is a run of the mill retractable leash. It features a push/slide type of button that allows you to “lock” the allowed length of leash in place. Lift your thumb from the button and the lock releases, which allows the dog to pull the leash out to its full length — sixteen (16) feet.
The good: the retractable leash works as it should.
The bad: there is no locking mechanism. To lock the leash in place you have to continue to hold down the button. This may not seem like a big deal, but after fifteen minutes or so of walking my thumb started to hurt.
In all probability, I will be taking the Flexi Classic Cord Leash back and purchasing a retractable leash that allows me to lock the allowed amount of leash.

I am *almost* positive that is the same leash we had for duke. I liked it because the other regular leash he came with ..well he could pull me with that thing and thats how i pulled out my ribs!
his was pink lol. but it sucked holding that little button. everynow and then i’d let go, thinking it had locked but I would be wrong
P.A.
Hey, Jenn- there actually should be a locking mechanism on them. The little fish-tail (or whatever the shape on the backs of cars is called : P) thing in front of the button slides forward and locks the leash. The Site shows a diagram where the brake-lock is, Mine was stuck at first (too stiff), but after breaking it in I like it so much I’ve bought a second for puppy #2. Ours are the 26 foot, up to 110 pound leashes but the site says they all have the brake-lock.
I hope yours does! I remember thinking, ‘This dang thing has to do SOMETHING!!!’ for a week or more before it finally slid : P After it moved once, it was fine.
