I received a sample bottle of Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, and since I’m always interested in makeup removers, I was all too happy to give it a whirl.
The good: it works. It takes a very small amount of the product and very little effort to wipe away shadow, liner and mascara with a tissue or a cotton ball. There’s no real noticeable scent, and it doesn’t burn or otherwise irritate my skin.
The bad: it leaves behind a weird, oily-feeling residue. This is rather odd and contradictory, since the product advertises itself as being oil-free. I didn’t like the residue left behind on my skin, and wound up using an additional facial cleanser to remove that.
Overall, I would probably not purchase this product, simply because of the gross residue issue!

I wonder if it is a silicone based product? I say this because Mary Kay has a eye makeup remover that is silicone based and leaves what feels like a oily residue. The thing is, the assumption is that you would be washing your face afterward, which would remove the residue. I’ve yet to find an eye makeup remover that doesn’t leave some sort of oily residue on my eyes.
