Target Up & Up

1

I am a fan of Target. I adore Target. I love Target. I fell in love with Target the first time I was in one of their stores, which was in the fall of 2001. Perhaps it’s just the memories I associate with Target (I first went there with my now-husband, then-fiance when I was visiting him at college), or maybe it’s the fact that it’s cleaner, brighter and just nicer than the other retailers out there. Whatever it is, Target has me hooked.

I freely admit to purchasing a lot of generic products at Target. From vitamins to diapers to aluminum foil, if the ingredients are there and the quality is the same, then I’m all for it.

Recently I noticed Target’s dramatic re-design. Their generic products have gone from this:

target before

To this:

target after

I don’t know what I think about the redesign. It’s classy and hip, to be sure, but I think that the bulls eye made finding the generic and thus cheaper products much easier. The bulls eye stood out. The arrow and the cluttered layout of the new generic product faces? Not so much.

What are your thoughts?

Couldn’t agree with you more. I just recently went to Target to buy some toilet paper, didn’t see the original packaging, and started to get a little worried that I would have to pay more for other paper. Thankfully I figured it out however, I don’t really care for the design. It’s kind of bland and the arrow doesn’t scream “Target”!
