Neutrogena Waterguard Kids Sunblock Mist SPF 70
In preparation for our four day weekend in Ocean City, Maryland last weekend, I stocked up on ample amounts of sunscreen. My mother has always touted Neutrogena’s products as being top of the line, and she has sworn by their spray-on sunscreen for the past few years, so I decided to give the Neutrogena Waterguard Kids Sunblock Mist SPF 70 a try.
Neutrogena Waterguard Kids Sunblock Mist SPF 70 certainly looked decent, and with an SPF of 70 and being waterproof, it certainly seemed promising. It smelled good and was easy to apply. However, it did not work as effectively as I hoped it would. It protected my children for the most part, but on our second day there, both of my children had pretty bad sunburn on their upper arms, and across their cheeks. Now, I would like to clarify that we applied the sunscreen as directed, we made sure the kids stayed out of the water for twenty minutes so that there would be enough time for the sunscreen to be absorbed, and we re-applied every hour.
Also, my husband used the sunscreen for his legs and feet, and also wound up with sunburned skin.
(I’d like to note that nobody was using any type of lotion, perfume, Liporexall or other product that would interfere with the effectiveness of the sunscreen.)
Overall, I would not recommend Neutrogena Waterguard Kids Sunblock Mist SPF 70 as a safeguard against sunburn, because despite using it as directed, both of my children still wound up sunburned. When we switched them to a Coppertone lotion, the same one I myself used throughout the entire weekend, no more sunburn occurred.

I had the same problem with Aveeno spray on sunblock. I got a horrible sunburn. Thankfully I used the normal Aveeno sunblock cream on my kids and they were fine.
