Nestle Toll House cookie dough Nestle has issued a voluntary* recall on its line of pre-made, refrigerated Toll House cookie dough. Since March, 60+ instances of E. coli illnesses have been reported from 28 different states, with 25 of those instances requiring hospitalization. Thankfully, nobody has died, but still, E. coli is not something to mess around with!

Consumers should throw away any Toll House cookie dough that they may have in their refrigerators or freezers. Baking the dough is NOT enough to eliminate the risk of illness, as the bacteria can be transferred to other surfaces (hands, cooking surfaces, utensils, etc.).
Stores should empty their shelves and refuse to sell the product.
Restaurants should immediately stop using any Toll House cookie dough.

FYI, I was at Walmart around 3am EST today, and they already had their shelves cleaned out of all Toll House cookie dough. At least they’re on the ball with something!
