Unless you’re looking at a small business opportunity, for which you would need to invest in a location, a product or a service, you should never have to SPEND money in order to MAKE money. A prime example is paid blogging companies. Sign-up is free, you pay absolutely nothing, but you definitely get paid something. Or more than a little something, if you have multiple high-ranking blogs in the system, and you’re a good writer. 
All too often I see scams out there asking for $20 or more to tell you how to make money… it’s ridiculous!
