On September 6th, 2008, I placed an order for a custom HP Pavilion dv5. The base model is $579.99 for a 1.9GHz AMD Athlon dual core processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM and 160GB hard drive. I paid extra for a 2.2GHz AMD Turion dual core processor and 3GB DDR2 RAM.

My laptop arrived on Thursday, September 18th, 2008. On the evening of Friday, September 19th, 2008, I noticed a scratch on the lid of the notebook. I realize that laptops do eventually get scratched, but after just twenty-four hours of use? Unacceptable. So, I called HP, and they’re setting up an exchange. I’m going to send it back, and pay extra to get the 17″ series with the same specs as this model. It’ll cost a little extra, but it’ll definitely be worth having the extra viewing area and especially the number pad.

I’ll update again when I receive the new notebook. :)
