Cutex Liquid Nail Polish Remover

1

Several weeks ago I made a quick run to the grocery store, and while I was there realized I needed nail polish remover (this realization came when I was studying my grocery shopping list and happened to glance over at my chipped nails). All the grocery store had was Cutex Liquid Nail Polish Remover, but I’ve always heard good things about Cutex, so I didn’t think much about buying it.

Well, after the experience I had with it, I’ll definitely think twice about buying it again! Don’t get me wrong, the stuff works. But it feels incredibly gummy. It also makes the washcloth (I used nail polish remover-soaked washcloths to remove nail polish) stick to my nail polish, almost as if the Cutex nail polish remover is breaking down the polish into a gummy substance before dissolving it completely.

That’s the best way I can describe Cutex Liquid Nail Polish Remover — gummy. Also, I accidentally got some on a plastic hair clip, and the plastic actually began to erode and chip away! I have never had that happen before.

Bottom line, Cutex Liquid Nail Polish Remover took off my nail polish, but it was messy to handle and made a mess of a plastic hair clip. I wouldn’t buy it again. (In fact, I threw out the bottle that I had!)

Is it acetone? I know acetone dissolves plastic. I figured that out the hard way when I decided to pour some into a plastic container and it completely ate through the plastic until there was nothing left was nail polish remover spilled everywhere. :P
