One past job I had was the housekeeper/babysitter of a disabled woman. Watching her struggle through the everyday things that you and I take for granted, including going to the bathroom, walking the dog, and going to the bus stop to pick up a child, was a real eye opener. She had a stair lift“>stair lift and an elevator from the first floor to the basement, and of course all of the doorways had been widened to accommodate her wheelchair.

Her name was Diane, and it’s been a little over five years since I worked for her, but I hope she is doing well.
