Allow me to preface this by saying that when it comes to cosmetic hold up, Unidens fail miserably. In four and a half years, two different Uniden phones have quickly lost a lot of their surface paint.

Anyway.

att-dual-handset-phone-system.jpg I purchased the AT&T 5.8 GHz Digital Dual Handset Answering System (exact model number is E6012B) to replace my crappy, boring Uniden. I was looking for a phone that had the following features:

  • Two handsets
  • Speakerphone capability on base and/or phones themselves
  • Digital answering machine
  • Backlit number pad

The AT&T phone system had all of that and more. While the base itself does not have speakerphone capability, both handsets do. In addition, the handsets can call one another - the “intercom” feature. The digital answering system is flawless, and both phones and the base have the ability to recognize and alert me (blinking light on base; “new voicemail” and email icons on phones) to new voicemails on my Vonage account.

The phones themselves charge quickly, are easy to use, very sleek to look at and very nice to hold. The buttons are circular and raised, and the blue back lighting makes low light or no light usage a breeze. The speakerphone capability of the phones themselves are amazing - very clear, and absolutely no static for either party!

Overall, I am very pleased with the $99 I spent for this dual handset phone system at Target.
