Until recently, I have been very cruel to my skin. Despite wearing makeup on a daily basis, I never bothered to wash it off until my next shower! This meant that makeup would potentially be on my skin from 8am one morning until 9 or 10am the next morning, or the next evening (I almost always take showers every day, but every once in a while I’ll skip a day, especially if I’m not feeling good and/or not going out)!
Now that I’m getting “older” (my 23rd birthday is today!), I’ve decided that I should be kind to my skin. So I went on the hunt for makeup remover. After consulting with my mom, I decided to try out Avon’s Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion. Not surprisingly, it works like a charm! I usually apply it in the shower, and it and the makeup easily rinses off.

What is the difference in using that over using a face soap? The fact that it moisturizes? It seems like a good thing.

Stephanie, I think that its moisturizing capabilities are definitely a plus. I’ve found a lot of makeup removers to be very drying, and/or irritating. I have never experienced either with this stuff.

I used to use an Avon makeup remover that my mom had. I doubt it’s the same as this stuff, but I ended up not liking it because it was pretty greasy/oily. I switched to a L’oreal stuff that was contact-safe (the Avon stuff was DEFINITELY not contact-safe), and while it kinda felt weird on my contacts it did an awesome job on my eyes. If I still wore heavy makeup I’d use it all the time… but most of it comes off when I wash my face at night and the rest comes off with the morning shower.
