I had an incredibly opportunity (no, not a PPP opportunity) fall into my lap last Friday morning, so I took the plunge and purchased my dream camera - the Nikon D40.
The Nikon D40 is a 6.1 megapixel DSLR camera. It is loaded with controls and features to make even the advanced photographer jump for a joy. For a new-to-the-world-of-DSLRs person such as myself, I’m ready to cream my panties in excitement.
The camera starts up fast and is ready to rock and roll. I don’t get the dreaded “Processing…” screen when I want to capture the perfect shot. It does continuous shooting, which I tried out and was pleased to find that it worked like a dream come true - 2.5 frames per second!
The battery life is incredible. A ninety minute charge lasted through over 700 pictures (most with flash!) before the battery indicator dropped to 2/3.
