Several years ago I decided to try out Nair. Stupidly, I didn’t bother to do a patch test. Instead, I smeared Nair all over my legs and set the timer.
That was a big mistake. In about three minutes my legs were burning. By the time I dashed into the bathroom and rinsed the Nair off, I felt like someone had taken a torch to my legs. The skin of my legs was bright red, shiny and very tight feeling. My legs felt hot, and they burned. I couldn’t stand anything against them – lightweight bedsheets included – for several days.
That incident scared me off from chemical hair removers, until I spotted Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream in a sensitive formula. I decided to buy it and try it. This time I was a smart girl and did a patch test. No burning of any kind. Whew!
Veet works, and it takes off hair really well, but it doesn’t seem to get as close to the skin as a razor does. Also, the guarantee that it lasts longer with shaving? Pfft! I had to shave the next day.
